Beach Day

Buddy really liked riding in the backseat of Jane's car.

After a bath, a trip to the vet, a ride in the car and 2 walks on the beach, it's time for a nap at the beach house. So glad mom brought my bed.

I am going to the beach today!! I just had a bath so I am clean for the beach house. I don't really see the point of getting a bath before the beach, but whatever.

Wait....I have to go to the vet and get my shots first? Are you serious? Can this be negotiated?

Buddy likes to go shopping.
He really wanted these cookies last night.
He is sort of a obsessive compulsive shopper.
I only bought the cookies to avoid a potential temper tantrum.

And, the bird is not a toy either, right?

Ethan asked if the turtles and Buddy play together.
Buddy says yes, the turtles say no!

Rainman

Buddy likes to sit outside and watch the rain. I took this one through the blinds in the living room. Not sure if it is the rain that he likes or the fact that he gets a rub down to dry him off when he comes back in the house.

This was Buddy's picture from the Homeward Bound website. His profile said: "My name is Buddy and that's also my occupation. I am an 8 year old boy looking for a new place of employment. I am very affectionate and have a great sence of humor. I haven't had a chance to meet too many other dogs here so I can't really tell you how well I like other dogs, but I can tell you that I like people a lot!!"

So that's what got me to drive to Sacramento. I was still not sure I was ready, but I had to go meet the dog with a "great sence of humor".

Homeward Bound is an incredible place with the most caring and sensitive group of volunteers you will ever meet. I contacted them shortly after Oski passed away, when I was a total basket case and just really wanted Oski back. Everyone I talked to completely understood the pain I felt and took time to talk to me about their own experiences which was such a comfort. I am so grateful to everyone from Homeward Bound because they helped me find my new best friend!

Life is good, and couches are the best!

So, is the turtle mine too?

Buddy is getting used to rides in the car. Still a little nervous at first, but better than before. He has the front seat full of big pillows and a nice comfy blanket so he can spread out. When he gets a little more comfortable, he will ride in the backseat where it is safer for him.

Don't make me get off of this couch!!!
